Hi all,

Resending this in the blog in case it was missed on Discord and Groups.io – apologies to those getting it a second (or third) time!

For this month’s meeting, the wonderful Laura Anne Gilman will be joining us from the US via Zoom. Because of time zones being somewhat awkward, we’ll be holding the second-half topic at 6pm, 18 November 2020, to be followed by our usual first half whip around, and then followed by the Committee Meeting.

Laura Anne has been kind enough to agree to Zoom in (thanks to Gillian for organising) to discuss the state of the publishing industry in the US and share some wisdom from her vast experience in the largest speculative fiction market in the world – the US.

To find out more about Laura Anne, I’ve included her bio below and a link to her site here.

Laura Anne Gilman is the author of more than twenty novels, including the Nebula award-nominated The Vineart War trilogy and the award-winning Devil’s West series from Saga Press/ Simon & Schuster.  Her forthcoming projects include a Gilded Age historical fantasy and the start of a new contemporary fantasy series.

She has also dipped her pen into the mystery field as well, writing as L.A. Kornetsky

As this is a heavily digital event, I will be attempting to stream across a couple of platforms and I *think* I have a way of doing both Jitsi and Zoom (still working out Discord) – but you are more than welcome to come to the Hellenic Club as well, where we will be set up and good to go in the usual place.
