Upcoming workshops, courses and events

Nicole will be teaching The Year of the Novel course in 2013, both online through the Queensland Writers Centre and face-to-face at the ACT Writers Centre.

Gillian Polack will be teaching a workshop on using history to build your fiction at the Queensland Writers Centre on 17 March.

Ian McHugh will be teaching a 6-week fiction writing for beginners course through CIT Solutions, starting 13 Feb at Canberra College.

Awards and contests

David Coleman’s story “Drifting with Intent” received an Honourable Mention in the Writers of the Future contest.

Sales and publications

Twelve CSFG members had stories accepted for the Guild’s Next anthology.

Gillian Polack’s doctoral dissertation has been accepted for publication in Rethinking History: the journal of theory and practice.

Alan Baxter’s story “Tiny Lives” has been published at Daily Science Fiction, and is free to read online.

As are Chris Andrews’s “Faerie Blues” and David Walker’s “Corporate Body”, both in the December issue of Antipodean SF.

Nicole has revealed the cover art (by Shauna O’Meara) and ToC for her In Fabula-divino antholoy, including stories by Kevin J. Anderson & Rebecca Moesta, Trudi Canavan, Angela Slatter and Kaaron Warren.
